Little Steps Occupational Therapy is pleased to announce a free two-month scholarship program for one child to receive occupational therapy services.
The program includes:
• An initial assessment (no written report provided) completed by a registered Occupational Therapist.
• Individualized treatment sessions tailored to your child’s specific goals and needs.
• Treatment sessions carried out by either an Occupational Therapist (OT) or an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA).
• A collaborative goal setting discussion with the family to guide therapy focus areas.
This scholarship aims to make therapy services more accessible while helping children build essential skills for everyday success.
Duration: Two months of therapy (no re-scheduling of any of the scheduled appointments)
Location: Little Steps Occupational Therapy (Both locations are an option for sessions. However, the assessment is in the St. Catharines location only.
Availability: Limited appointment times are available. Only one spot will be awarded for this scholarship round.

Primitive Reflexes
We offer primitive reflex assessments!
If primitive reflexes don’t fully integrate, they can make everyday tasks harder for kids, even though it’s no one’s fault and not always obvious. The child’s body might still be "stuck" in those early movement patterns.
This can show up as:
- ✏️ Difficulty sitting still or focusing (because the body is in constant “ready to move” mode)
- 🧍♀️ Clumsiness or poor balance
- 🖍️ Handwriting or fine motor struggles
- 📚 Challenges with reading or eye tracking
- 😣 Overreactions to movement, sound, or touch
When we work on integrating primitive reflexes through specific movements and sensory activities, it helps the brain and body communicate more efficiently.
Children often show improvements in:
- Coordination and posture
- Emotional regulation and attention
- Motor planning
- Confidence and independence in daily tasks
